PSA Nitrogen Generator Working principle

Based on the principle of pressure swing adsorption, high-quality carbon molecular sieve is used as the adsorbent. Due to the kinetic effect under a certain pressure, the diffusion rate of oxygen in the micropores of carbon molecular sieves is much greater than that of nitrogen. When the adsorption balance is not reached, oxygen is adsorbed in large quantities by the carbon molecular sieves, and nitrogen molecules are enriched in the gas phase, achieving oxygen and nitrogen separation.

Since the adsorption capacity of carbon molecular sieves for oxygen is significantly different with different pressures, lowering the pressure can desorb the oxygen molecules adsorbed by the carbon molecular sieves, regenerate the carbon molecular sieves, and enable repeated recycling. Two adsorption tower processes are used, 1 tower produces nitrogen by adsorption, and the other tower desorbs and regenerates. The opening and closing of the pneumatic angle seat valve is controlled by the PLC intelligent program controller, so that the 2 towers cycle alternately and continuously produce high-quality nitrogen.
